"All your life you were only waiting for this moment to be free"

 Thank you Jesus that you demand nothing from us - there is no

"In order to be with me, in order to make it - 

• your messes must be 80% cleaned up by the time you reach the end of your life.
• 60% of your sin must not only be repented of but also conquered
• 67% of your thought life must be pure and selfless* (for North Americans - I understand, and 52% is a pass for you.)
• most if not all of  your inner demons must be vanquished
• by the time you arrive at the pearly gates your kids hould all be on the straight and narrow, and your grandkids too, if you have any.
• your marriage should be an example to us all
• and while you are still healthy and able, 75% of your time should be spent helping others.

SCRATCH THAT.

Thank you Jesus, that all you wait for, all you pursue us for, all you died for is a heart that knows it's need and says "yes" to you - a heart that takes your outstretched hand.  Thank you that it's precisely becasue of our messes, our struggles, our inner demons that you came.

You came, you saw, you lived in the swirl of injustice and pain and pockets of joy that is humanity...you died because we had no way out.

You come, you clear a path of welcome home through our lives that look like my teenager's bedroom -  




you forgive all my sins
you heal all my diseases
you redeem my life from the pit
and crown me with love and compassion.
